Billing Policy

Patients meeting the following criteria are eligible for Bulk-billed Appointments:

  1. Pensioners/healthcare card/Commonwealth Seniors HealthCare Cardholders,
  2. 75+ Healthcare assessments, Chronic Disease Management Plans, Vaccinations and Mental Health Care Plans
  3. Children under 16 years
  4. DVA Gold card
  5. Workcover OR TAC

;For those who do not fall under the mentioned criteria, a $35 GAP FEE will be applied for standard and long consultations. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing you with the best care possible.

We are excited to introduce you to MyMedicare, a voluntary patient registration program designed to offer you additional Medicare benefits. MyMedicare is aimed at strengthening your connection with your preferred doctor and our medical center, and we couldn't be more thrilled to extend these extra benefits to you.

MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration model available to all patients holding a Medicare Card or Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Veteran card. To unlock these added benefits, it's important to register your preferred clinic with Medicare. Patients who have had at least two face-to-face consultations with our dedicated GPs in the last 24 months are eligible to register for MyMedicare, starting from October 1, 2023.

Should you choose to make Nagambie Medical Centre your preferred home clinic, we will provide you with registration information and convenient registration options. We aim to make the process as seamless as possible for your comfort and convenience.

How Will You Benefit?

At the core of MyMedicare is the intention to foster a stronger bond between you and your preferred doctor and medical center. By consistently visiting the same clinic and seeing the same GPs for your medical needs, your chosen doctor can deliver more personalized and comprehensive ongoing care. While you are always welcome to seek care at other clinics, choosing your home clinic through MyMedicare brings extra advantages. To designate Nagambie Medical Centre as your 'home clinic,' you simply need to register with MyMedicare, select our medical center, and choose your preferred GP. We warmly invite all our current and past patients to make this choice.

Additional Benefits Await You

  1. Extended Telehealth Consultations:
  2. Registered patients at their 'home clinic' will have access to longer MBS-funded telehealth consultations (telephone calls) with GPs at Levels C & D. These extended consultations (over 20 minutes) allow for more in-depth discussions about your health, with Medicare providing a larger rebate to make them more affordable, exclusively at your registered home clinic.
  3. No GAP Fee for Eligible Patients:
    • Starting from November 1st, 2023, the Australian Government is introducing a Triple Bulk Billing incentive to alleviate the increasing costs of healthcare. This fantastic initiative means that GPs will bulk bill children aged 15 and under, pensioners, and concession card holders at your registered home clinic. This incentive may also extend to longer MBS telehealth consultations (Levels C, D, and E) with your GP
    • In gratitude for your ongoing trust and loyalty, we want to assure you that, as of November 1st, 2023, if you are a pensioner, healthcare card holder, child, or DVA Gold Card holder registered with My Medicare at our practice, we will continue to bulk bill for brief, standard, and prolonged consultations. Furthermore, if you are scheduled for 75+ Healthcare assessments, Chronic Disease Management Plans, Vaccinations, or Mental Health Care Plans and are registered with My Medicare, you will also benefit from bulk billing.

Do I Need to Register?
Registration is entirely voluntary. While you have the option not to register, we highly encourage you to take advantage of the extra Medicare benefits available by selecting Nagambie Medical Centre as your preferred 'home clinic.'

When Can I Register?
All patients can begin registering for MyMedicare starting from October 1, 2023. Registration information and links will be made available on our website once registrations open. There is no closing date or deadline to register.

Appointments
We provide a consultation service to the patients by appointments & walk-in both. In case of any emergency, please dial 000. For urgent appointments call our reception to get triage by one of our staff. Moreover, we have set our standard time as 10 minutes. In this designated time, the doctor will consult the patients with single or uncomplicated problems. However, if the patient requires more than 10 minutes, you are advised to inform the receptionist while booking your appointment.
Cancellation
If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment, please notify beforehand. By calling, you can either request for cancellation or change your time for an appointment. Moreover, we send appointment reminders to our patients on their mobile number. In case of cancellation, we require minimum 2-hours’ notice to cancel GP appointments, failure to do so will result in nonattendance fees.
Complaints
At Nagambie Medical Center, we encourage both negative & positive feedback form our patients. The reason for specifically making this section is that we value the feedback of our patients. Hence, if you have any suggestion or complaint regarding our services, staff or doctors please feel free to inform us immediately. We will respond to your suggestions promptly. However, if you are not satisfied with our practice of handling your complaints, you may choose to then forward your objection to relevant authority.
Pre-Employment Medical Reports & Examination
At Nagambie Medical Centre, we provide pre-employment medical help and it is not covered under Medicare. Moreover, for fee enquiry please call us at 0357941816 .
WorkCover & TAC
Any consultation related to Workcover and TAC won't be billed under Medicare. The patient either has to pay a full consultation fee or must agree with your employer/insurer or the TAC to pay for the consultation to pay on patient behalf.
Access to Medical History
All personal and sensitive information is dealt with our Practice Privacy Policy
Medical Certifications
We provide medical certificates to our patients and you can request for it at the time of your consultation. In case you require a special certificate for consideration, please bring the necessary paperwork at the time of your appointment.
